December 20, 2015

This week Wednesday, Dec 30, at 6:00 PM ET, Monty Taylor will be interviewed by Mitchell Rabin on A Better World Radio. The show will include a brief astrological review of 2015 with a focus on what is before us.

One of the areas of focus in the show will be the transformation of the structure of our money supply, the very structure of the currency system itself with which we are so accustomed.  With the upcoming influences mapped according to the ancient science and art of astrology, 2016 offers some pretty profound opportunities for transforming structures—and ourselves as well.

The Sun makes its entrance into the sign of Capricorn, the natural ruler of the Midheaven of the chart, the highest point in the heavens the moment you were born. It rules mountaintops and is the symbol of the higher mind. It is, in turn, ruled by the planet Saturn, the archetype of all things concerned with boundaries by which we are able to define things.

The animal totem of Capricorn is the sure-footed mountain goat whose habitat is the lofty and precipitous mountaintop, representing regions of the Higher Mind. Exploring the Higher Mind now, with a sure foot, yields its particular rewards.

That is the theme society seems have to have assigned to the time when the sun is in Capricorn: to gather the experience of the past year, and like an architect, build a future during the next year as the sun begins a new cyclical journey through the zodiac.

This week we will delve deeper into the subject of a recent show on the topic of the Sun in Sagittarius for a continuing exploration of the importance and complexity of this freedom- and adventure-loving Sign. We will continue to explore the mission of archetypes that guide us with their myths through the adventures of life.

The fire sign formed by the cluster of stars we call Sagittarius looks like an archer, with his bow aimed upward towards the reward of higher consciousness. When viewed from Earth, the center of our galaxy is even framed in the final degrees of Sagittarius, which is often viewed as the sign of the Higher Mind and is regarded as one of the principle signs of medicine.

According to many cultures and legends, we are in a time of great changes that are reflected with planetary transits of the outer planets—Uranus, Neptune and Pluto—effecting civilization, society and even the geological and climatic conditions on Earth. They represent the furthest and most profound cosmic energies on all levels of earthly existence from the material, to global state of politics, economics and psychology. Simply put, they are associated with changes that will permanently affect the current status of life.

We are talking today about an important issue of our time, with honored guest Pierre Dubois, a renowned spiritual teacher and counselor, gifted healer, certified life coach and hypnotist, regression therapist, channel, and non-denominational ordained minister. He has been offering a dire vision of what Future Earth will look like, saying that the planet is at a crossroads and will no longer sustain human life, if we follow in our present trajectory.

We will continue to explore the mission of archetypes that guide us with their myths through the adventures of life. We have recently traced the ascent of the Sun from the underworld of Scorpio, through the bridge of Ophiuchus, and now we will explore its emergence into the wilds and riches of freedom- and adventure-loving Sagittarius.

We are fast approaching the traditional end of the sun's annual journey through Pluto's domain of Scorpio and its anticipated entrance into the realm of Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter. We come upon a mysterious sign that lies between the underworld of Scorpio and the higher mind of Sagittarius: the sign of Ophiuchus, called the Serpent Bearer, associated with the art of the Shaman. This is an interesting and major rite of passage.

Astrologers have not included Ophiuchus in the wheel of astrological signs because the Sun spends only about 19 days in this 13th sign resting on the sun's path through the zodiac. As far as astrologers were concerned, the Sun traveled from the constellation Scorpius and then proceeded directly into the sign of Sagittarius. In reality, this was not the case.

We will be exploring the depths of this myth and its meaning on this week's broadcast.

The 90-degree square that is forming between Saturn and Neptune is not easily negotiated with linear, logical thinking. The mystical, nebulous, inspirational call of Neptune is being squared full on by the pragmatic, structured demands of Saturn. This is not a good recipe for self-confidence or a sense of security.

Government, economic, and cultural values can be changed gradually when Saturn and Neptune are not relating to each other. But when challenged, all forms of security can be swept away with a wave of innovation, with an idea whose time has come in the human collective consciousness; the status quo cannot withstand its force.

During this time, we have an uneasy feeling that things are not as they seem. But the two divergent energies can work together.

When you feel that circumstances are beyond your control, how do you move forward? How do you get your bearings when different areas of your life seem pulled between being stuck in the past and being able to move forward? Where do you think or feel the answers come from?

To help us in our search for insight and answers, we welcome to this week's broadcast Itzhak Beery, internationally recognized shamanic healer, teacher, and author. We hope to discover how the ancient shamanic practice can enhance our everyday life and help us live with passion through intimate connection to what the Native Americans called the Great Mystery and other spirits.

Traveling between the Veils - The Sun continues its journey through the underworld of Scorpio. It is the time we explore the treasure trove and the hall of horrors that lurks below the surface of our daily awareness. And this is the time of year when the ancients believed that the veils between the earthly and the otherworldly were thin.

Most conscious behavior, values, perceptions, and reactions are stemmed from the Unconscious. This is described by the realm of the underworld and its ruler, Pluto. The myth allows us to communicate our understanding of the hidden forces that drive our thoughts and actions. The myth is not the cause of psychological dysfunction; it enables us to discuss it.

It is the lens through which we look at Life that makes all the difference. Perception is always more powerful than actual objective Reality. It is understanding that so much of what we understand about our situation in life comes from the reflection it casts upon the mirror of our mind. It is similar to the reflected light of the Moon which comes from the Sun. Light is light, but it is qualified by the journey it takes from its source to the destiny of our retinas.

The Sun has just entered the sign of Scorpio. This signifies Persephone descending into the underworld of Hades, the domain of its ruler and her beloved husband Pluto. It is the season of incubation until the Sun returns in the spring to the sign of Aries. It is much like the caterpillar entering into the cocoon. “To sleep, perchance to dream!” Now we should remind ourselves why we need sleep, and the opportunity to explore our dreams

It is the time of commemorating the cycles of life. One of the first festivals to occur immediately after the Sun enters Scorpio is Halloween. Our ancestors began by honoring the transition in life and the journey into the underworld with ghosts, ghouls, withes, sorcerers and disincarnated spirits. The next day is All Soul's Day in the early Christian tradition. It is the celebration of those who have left the physical level of Life and resurrected. It reminds us that the sign of Scorpio is all about death AND resurrection. As we travel through the underworld of Scorpio, we experience the early stages of renewal.

To more easily understand the power of Scorpio, we must understand that it is the domain of the Unconscious, mirroring the Underworld of Hades. What wealth of talent and insight lie in the treasure trove of your Unconscious? It does not use words, which is why you dream in symbols and allegories, where your left brain must serve as translator. Here is your renewal into self-empowerment.

Every astrological chart revolves around the dance of the Masculine and the Feminine. Masculine planets can be found in Feminine signs. Feminine signs can be placed on Masculine houses! For millennia, mankind has bounced back and forth between Matriarchal and Patriarchal ages in history. But now, we are entering into the Age of Aquarius, and this new age is regarded by many seers and scholars as the Age of Androgyny!

Contrast and opposites, including male and female, do not have to mean conflict but, when mobilized positively in the human mind, can be complementary and beneficial. The condition of inner balance is reflected back through experience with what Carl Jung called the “other.”

We will be joined on this broadcast by one of our most popular guest hosts: Deborah Wolf, PhD, holistic therapist, anthropologist, storyteller, and counselor of insight. We’ll explore the reality of this phenomenon that first takes place in the depths of the psyche, to re-direct the collision course of conflicting energies.

Today, the media is filled with horrifying stories of violence against women and children. The abuse of women is rampant and reaching the tipping point of public awareness as this hidden atrocity is being revealed. Even in the socially sanitized media of the US, there is a profound war for the rights of women being raged in the legislative bodies of the US Congress, ranging from equal pay for equal work to the rights of women to have control over their own health issues.

When we transcend the pendulum of power struggles between the polarities of the two genders, we see that they are two extremes of the same center. The Age of Aquarius holds much promise in helping the Collective Consciousness to embrace the center of these two extremes. We call it the age of androgyny.

On this week's broadcast, we are celebrating a momentous event taking place at New York's legendary CARNEGIE HALL, with special guest, Singapore-born Indian conductor George Mathew, founder and Artistic Director of Music for Life International. Music for Life International in partnership with UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women presents a benefit concert of the great Scheherazade-inspired works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel, organized and led by conductor George Mathew. Net proceeds will benefit the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women.

An astrological chart functions very much like an MRI. It does not cause what it reveals, but it reveals the invisible conditions that need our attention for repair and enables us to prevent the worsening of a negative situation. The MRI also reveals what is working well, and what can be enhanced or left alone.

The measurement of Time and its effects on human history has long been the role of astrological measurement. The outer planets—Uranus, Neptune and Pluto—are the arbiters of massive change in the plateaus of the landscapes of civilization. They interact with the planet of stability, Saturn. They teach us that the success of stability depends on the adaptability and flexibility of cultural, political, economic and material systems.

We have just experienced seven squares of Uranus (change and revolution) to the planet Pluto (total transformation). The outer planets work slowly but irrevocably. Often we do not see the change they trigger until the transit of the planet has finished. Knowledge often is the result of retrospection. Projecting results without insight is similar to gambling. Astrology is a valuable tool. We are well advised to use it to help us “Live Consciously.”

This Lunar Eclipse falls at 4 degrees Aries. To use astrology wisely, see where 4 degrees Aries falls in your natal chart. That is the trigger point for your individual experience with the current Lunar Eclipse. What part of your life is affected? Is it impacting your house of health or job, relationships or family? Is 4 degrees of Aries making an aspect—such as a square, a trine, or even an opposition—to a natal planet? Even more significantly, is 4 degrees Aries aspecting a sensitive point in your partner's chart or the chart of your company?

Looking at an eclipse as a temporary event that is quickly resolved can be very unwise. Eclipses can be re-triggered by other planets as they transit over the eclipse point, or even make a significant aspect to it. It is easy to fall into the habit of micro-managing our transits. Transits are normal rhythms in time that function like gears in a wheel. They are a normal function of the organic energy pattern that is reflected in an astrological chart. They propel the thoughts you focus on so that action can take place with awareness. Our planets and the Sun and Moon are very much like the crystals inside a kaleidoscope. They are always rearranging themselves, from our perspective. The energetic patterns they form to each other and to our natal charts have an effect on our emotions, our subconscious pattern of behavior, and the personal interactions between us as a result.

September 20, 2015

This week's broadcast will deal with several of the major astrological events that will take place during September.

If major celestial transits are hitting your individual chart in sensitive places, you will experience September as a major milestone in the development of your life plan.

If the cosmic events are not activating anything in your natal chart, you will most likely experience the results as a spectator. For these individuals, the events will seem to be affecting the outer world, the general public, or the structures of society. It will appear as if the storm is outside your personal concerns. It will be much like a storm passing through while you stay inside the safety of your personal routine.

If we take the symbolic message offered by the archetypes at work in the cosmic neighborhood, we will see that there are some very good points of advice to follow. REflect during the Mercury Retrograde, REceive during the solar eclipse, RElease during the lunar eclipse, and REnovate as Pluto returns to direct motion. Just as a storm on earth damages things in its path that are faulty in their structure, while leaving things that are properly balanced in their foundation unscathed, so it is with the mental and emotional elements of our individual ways of dealing with life. We must look at unbridled power, such as a waterfall, heavy wind, and the clash of weather fronts, as potential sources of energy that can be harnessed. But our minds are the power plants that can do it. Our conscious awareness can actually be compared to a nuclear reactor to fuel the voyage of humanity towards whatever goals we choose.

September 13, 2015

The cosmic kaleidoscope is very active for this time of year, no matter which hemisphere you are occupying. September is the time for organization and integration. It brings the urge to establish simplicity and practicality to our daily lives and routines.

But it is not business as usual this time. First, there is a Solar Eclipse at 4 degrees Aries on September 13th. But that is only the beginning. Trickster Mercury will turn retrograde September 17th (until October 9th). It will be time to carefully reflect on the way we are communicating, thinking and planning our current activities. If ever there were a good time for second thoughts it is now. This does not mean to doubt our own confidence and wisdom, but to verify the information upon which we are basing our actions.

And just when we should be in a period of reflection, we will experience the unleashed power of transformation due to Pluto going direct on September 25th. Pluto is total transformation. And we are starting to get into the active period of an election cycle!

Two days later, while Mercury is still retrograde, we will experience a “Blood Moon” Lunar Eclipse at 20 degrees Virgo! Lunar Eclipses are said to bring the past into the present, so that we may clear it of any unprocessed emotional or habitual behaviors that would prevent the Future from grounding into the present.  Fear is a frequency consciousness. It is a reaction, not a reality. When unaddressed, it stalks our thoughts with phantoms that are the offspring of the decayed projections of the past onto the present day. Fear will not keep you from dying, but Fear will certainly keep you from living! When we realize this, we are a step closer to self-empowerment. Then we are more in the state of “Living Consciously.”

August 30, 2015

This past week there was a Full Moon in Pisces that is referred to as a “Super Moon” because the moon is closest to the earth, and opposite the Sun in Virgo. Many writers like to refer to it with the somewhat dramatic title of a “blood moon” because of the red glow to its color because of the earth's atmosphere.

Looking beyond the sensational reaction to a normal celestial event, this full moon takes place in a very sensitive point in the zodiac in terms of the impact on the human psyche. The polarity of Virgo to Pisces symbolizes the pull to integrate the grounded, practical essence of Virgo with the mystical, transcendental energy of Pisces. It symbolizes the conundrum to trying to balance the material with the mystical, the beginnings undertaken when the sun was in Pisces are now approaching their harvest time as the sun enters Virgo.

This broadcast will focus on our opportunity to ground inspiration and turn it into practical, constructive action. The archetypes involved (Neptune, Jupiter, Mercury, Demeter aka Ceres) will be reminding us of the constant change that is essential to physical and conscious evolution. Like the voyages of ancient myth, they are significant players in the unfolding of our personal adventures.
